Homeowner’s Guidance

HOA approve paint scheme by Dunn-Edwards can be found here

Many of us are anxious to proceed with improvements to our Barrington homes. In general, the HOA supports and encourages these enhancements for both improving your living experience here and embellishing Barrington’s appearance. While you can make reasonable improvements within your homes and your backyards without HOA approval, our Barrington Covenants, Conditions, and Restrictions (CC&R’s) require that any improvement that will be visible from the street must be approved by the Barrington Architectural Committee, composed of a small number of your fellow residents.

The Committee actively seeks ways to ensure that you can do what you would like as long as it meets the standards laid out in the architectural guidelines. In considering these requests, please download from this page the Architectural Guidelines. They will provide much of the information needed to guide your plans.

The Committee discusses these requests regularly and works to get final decisions on your request within a week of your submission of the architectural change request form. It also has a record of rationality and fair play.

Please remember that, while fellow neighbors can provide helpful advice, they cannot provide the formal approval you need. If you are planning a modification that will be visible from the street (be it front yard  or backyard), then please complete the architectural request form and submit it by email to
